Count Down

Any day now would be okay with me. I have 11 days until my due date, and not much action has taken place. I have the occasional Braxton Hicks and other typical pre labor signs, but nothing alarming. I wake up every morning wondering if today will be the day. Like most babies, Baby Richards has a mind of [her] own, and will come when [she]wants to. In the meantime, I will just have to keep counting down, finishing sewing projects, building puzzles, and making lots of extra food. (This is what I've been doing the past couple of days to pass the time.) I feel ready!! When it comes right down to the wire, I may not feel so ready, but I'll take it as it comes.

It amazes me how generous people become when you are going to have a baby. We have a wide variety of baby gear and supplies that were given to us. A few things I have found at garage sales for pennies, but for the most part I only bought a traveling set (car seat and stroller) brand new. I don't even have a picture of it.

Baby Richards has a couple of places to sleep:

Here I am putting together the crib

Pack-N-Play

Baby Richards has food to eat: (besides Mama's milk)

All of this formula was free!! (Either through coupons or mail samples sent to me and my aunt.)

Baby Richards has a place to change (both diapers and clothes):

Baby Richards has plenty of diapers to adorn that adorable bum:

I have both disposable and cloth. I will experiment with cloth diapers to see how much I like them. Either way, I really think they are cute!

Baby Richards has places to relax/sit and play:

This exersaucer is actally on loan from a friend.

Baby Richards has clothes to wear: (whether baby turns out to be a boy or a girl. My friend Tiffany gave me some little boy clothes (just in case), and I bought a bunch for approximately .25 from various garage sales).

I didn't take pictures of the actual shower, but this is the loot I brought home afterwards.

Baby Richards has mobility:

This jogging stroller I found at a garage sale for $5.00. One of the wheels is a little skiwampous and needs to be replaced, but for $5.00 it will be worth finding a new tire.

Baby Richards has books to read and look at:

I have built up this collection since I was in high school. Most of these books were purchased from the DI (in Tooele or Logan, UT), and cost around .25 each. Others were earned through scholastic book orders (which I used when I was teaching). I suppose I will need to get some books that Baby Richards can chew on. :)

Toddler Richards has a place to sleep when it comes time.
This toddler bed was also picked up at a garage sale for $5.00. It has the same wood as the crib and changing table, so it looks like I bought them as a set.

Baby Richards has parents who love [her], and can't wait until she comes. I'm sure [she] will have plenty of admirers who will fall instantly in love with [her] when they see [her] beautiful face. My prediction is that [she] will look like [her] dad. I hope [she] gets [her] daddy's eyes, and her mommy's hair!

Isn't it fun waiting and wondering what this new little spirit will be and become and and and and and. I sometimes read Jordan's journal of when I was waiting for him to be born...what a fun time! Can't wait to see this new little Richards angel!

Oh...and so cool that you were in Salsburg and saw all those same things. I did see the cow...but not the gnome place!

I am so excited for you to welcome baby richards to your family. It seems like you have everything. I wish we lived closer so I could meet her and see you guys.

Oh wow! You are loaded! I love the generosity of others. Being on the other end and often willing to love or give I see why everyone is so generous, it piles up quickly.
