In early March, my good friend Jen Lufkin moved to Oralando. This was both a sad and happy occasion. It was sad to see her go - she seriously has done so much for me, but it was a happy thing because her husband got a great new job and her family is seriously doing so well there. They totally deserve the great time they are having down there and the many blessings that are coming their way.
In an effort to say goodbye to such a great family, we had a farewell party for them at the bowling alley. This was Hazels' first time bowling and Zabien and Eliza's second time.
I normally am not a big fan of selfie's but this one with Jen didn't turn out too poorly.
Another friend of Jen's rented out the party room at the bowling alley. It was full of potluck food. Hazel sure seemed to enjoy the cheese balls.
It was quite fun to watch the kids bowl. Hazel didn't seem to have any reservations whatsoever about the bowling ball . She only nearly dropped it on her toe about a dozen times, but she still wouldn't wait for us to help her.
With all the strength she could muster, she would put that bowling ball at the top of the ramp and push it.
Then she would walk away without looking or caring about how many pins she knocked down. One time, she even got a strike, but the rest of us were the only ones who celebrated. In fact, she was the only person in our family to get a strike.
Zabien, on the other hand, would push his ball down the ramp with such gusto, that it never had any chance of staying in a straight line.
After every turn, whether he knocked down any pins or not, he would throw his hands up in the air, jump up and down, and cheer for himself . I never could quite capture the smile he had on his face after every turn, but he was always so proud. It was probably more fun watching him bowl than it was actually bowling.
Eliza would throw her hand in the air after every shot. You could tell she was having a fun time. She kept trying to put her ball in different places to see if she would knock down any more pins.
With her own fashion sense, she was bowling in style. It was animal day at school that day hence the zebra striped pants, cat skirt, and horse shirt. She rocks nearly everything she wears.
I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but I did manage to fall right on my behind while taking my turn. It wasn't a pretty sight considering I was 7 months pregnant.
The kids all had a great time bowling - we got in two games in our allotted time. We had a pretty large group overall; I think we took up 8 lanes with each lane maxed out. We will miss our friends the Lufkin's, but wish them the best of luck in their endeavors.
