Eliza actually enjoyed dying Easter eggs. She was so excited by the prospect that she often cracked her egg after throwing it in the dye cups. She liked to both stir the egg, and use the spoon to help quench her thirst. After 7 eggs (the rest of the kids did 1 or 2), and 3 spoonfuls of dye too many to the mouth, I made her stop. Here she is with some of her eggs.
She wouldn't turn and look at me - she wanted to be seen slyly from the side.
After egg dying - it was outside for the Easter egg hunt. She thoroughly enjoyed carrying her basket around, (she carried it like a purse and kept waving and saying "bye-bye" as we went outside), but didn't quite understand the point of looking for the eggs.
I'm sure if she would have known that the eggs contained jelly beans and chocolate eggs before the hunt started, she may have been a little more enthusiastic to pick eggs up.
I coaxed and coaxed her to pick them up and put them in her basket. After she picked up the first one, she was pretty content, and didn't think she needed to pick up any others.
I ended up picking up two more eggs for her so she would get more than one.
Here are all the kids together with their baskets:
Fortunately for Eliza, the two children who picked up 10 eggs a piece shared with her bringing her total up to 6. I thought this picture of these three kiddos eating their jellybeans together was too cute to pass up.
Happy Easter everyone!!
