To kick off the beginning of summer, we went swimming the first day our complex pool opened. Baby Cakes loves to "swim" in the bathtub, so I thought she would be thrilled. After a little hesitancy in the kiddie pool, she did eventually start kicking and enjoy herself although not nearly as enthusiastically as I first thought she might. Later we tried putting her a baby floatie in the big pool. She DID NOT like that. I don't blame the girl - the water was freezing cold. She did get back in the kiddie pool, but with far less gusto than the first time. It's been so rainy lately that we haven't been back. It makes me wonder if she will eventually love swimming like her daddy, or sometimes tolerate it like me.
"I wonder what is going to happen? Will it be fun???"
How fun!! Our girls have really been enjoying the swimming pool in our apt. complex. (Actually they have been going in the hot tub, which is just warm, so maybe that is why they have enjoyed it!!)
I bet she'll love it! Just wait until you find some warmer water :) We've starting swimming daily with our kids at 7:30 am and the water is truly perfect -- but that is just how Texas is! Wish we could share some of our heat. Miss your family!
"Everything good about you is everything" (Brittney)
"I am the Dam Expert" (Bruce)
"I am the phone hooker" (Brittney) Let me explain. I was talking about hanging up the phone on the hook. I don't really know how this one came about
"I guess I am just weird!" (Bruce)
"I know I haven't been teaching for long, but I pretty much know everything" (Brittney)
"I'm surprised I didn't marry myself, I'm so annoying" (Brittney)
"I've never had grape jelly before" (Bruce)
"Maybe you're a plant! Maybe you're growing in the bath tub" (Brittney)
"Oh no! I'm dead!" (Bruce)
"See, I'm just as weird as you are" (Brittney)
"We should help out our fellow dead" (Brittney)
"What? You're pants are on?" (Brittney)
"With a husband like me I'm surprised you don't have more odd days" (Bruce)
"You are eating in your clothes?" (Brittney)
We were reading aloud the play The Miracle Worker in 8th grade Language Arts. I was asking for volunteers to read parts. One of the parts listed was simply called "man". Without thinking, I blurted out, "I need a man!" You can imagine the reaction of my class members after this was said. With great finesse, I recovered nicely and continued with the lesson. This one had to make the list though.
