Mini-triatholon

One week ago I did the Champaign mini-triatholon with my friend Jeremy Hatch. The race started with a swim/run through a lazy river,

continued through lap swimming (400 meters of swimming total), went on to biking (6 miles), and concluded with running (2 miles).

I didn't do much training while on our vacation, so my goals were to finish the race and still be able to walk when I got done. I accomplished both goals. It was fun!

Famous Bruce and Brittney Sayings

  • "Everything good about you is everything" (Brittney)
  • "I am the Dam Expert" (Bruce)
  • "I am the phone hooker" (Brittney) Let me explain. I was talking about hanging up the phone on the hook. I don't really know how this one came about
  • "I guess I am just weird!" (Bruce)
  • "I know I haven't been teaching for long, but I pretty much know everything" (Brittney)
  • "I'm surprised I didn't marry myself, I'm so annoying" (Brittney)
  • "I've never had grape jelly before" (Bruce)
  • "Maybe you're a plant! Maybe you're growing in the bath tub" (Brittney)
  • "Oh no! I'm dead!" (Bruce)
  • "See, I'm just as weird as you are" (Brittney)
  • "We should help out our fellow dead" (Brittney)
  • "What? You're pants are on?" (Brittney)
  • "With a husband like me I'm surprised you don't have more odd days" (Bruce)
  • "You are eating in your clothes?" (Brittney)
  • We were reading aloud the play The Miracle Worker in 8th grade Language Arts. I was asking for volunteers to read parts. One of the parts listed was simply called "man". Without thinking, I blurted out, "I need a man!" You can imagine the reaction of my class members after this was said. With great finesse, I recovered nicely and continued with the lesson. This one had to make the list though.
